The dust-laden air is sucked into the inlet (1) on top of the filter facing down. When the air enters the filter chamber, its velocity drops and the heaviest dust particles fall into the dust container (8). The air and lighter particles flow further through the filter cartridges (5) where the dust collects. The filtered air is then sucked out through the filter outlet (3) by the external fan. At this point, the air is so clean that it can be returned directly to the room.
Whenever the pressure drop across the filter cartridges (5) exceeds the preset limit value, the valves in the pulse-cleaning air tank (2) are activated and discharge a pulse of compressed air from cleaning nozzles (4) (1 nozzle/filter cartridge). This reverses the air in the filter cartridges (5). The compressed-air pulse jars the dust collected on the surface of the filter medium causing it to fall down into the dust container (8).
